WASCAL working group presents current research activities at the Aachen Hydrogen Colloquium 2023
On the second day of the Aachen Hydrogen Colloquium 2023, the interdisciplinary working group led by Maria Movsessian presented together with Peter Letmathe, Rega Sota and Marcel Kottrup the ongoing research "People, technology, and the environment: The role of green hydrogen in Senegal's sustainable development path".
As part of the WASCAL project, young scientists from various disciplines are conducting joint research on topics related to the energy transition in the Global South. The focus is on the West African region, Senegal in particular. Topics on energy economics, long-term energy system planning, sustainability assessments, participatory decision-making, political risks and export opportunities for hydrogen are elaborated.
Next to the Chair of Management Accounting, the Junior Professorship Decision Analysis and Socio-economic Assessment, the Chair of Energy Systems Economics, the Chair of International Economic Relations, the Institute for Sustainability in Construction and the Junior Professorship of Energy Management in Developing Countries are part of the group, who also taught the courses in the specialization "Economics, Policies & Infrastructure" in the International Master Program for Energy and Green Hydrogen on site at the Université Cheikh Anta Diop in Dakar, Senegal during the previous semester.
